Common questions

How does a fractional engagement actually work?
A recurring cadence rather than a headcount. Most engagements run as a standing working session every week or two, plus async decision support in between. You get senior technical judgment on priorities, vendors, and build-vs-buy calls without carrying a full-time CTO salary.
What does this cost?
Three shapes: a fixed-price discovery workshop to get clarity fast, project work quoted as a fixed scope with milestones, or a monthly retainer for ongoing advisory. After an initial conversation you get a written proposal with scope and pricing on a share link — no account needed, and no obligation to accept.
How fast can you start?
Usually within one to two weeks of the first conversation. Discovery work can often start sooner. If the timing does not work, we will say so rather than stringing it out.
What if we already have an internal team or an IT provider?
That is the common case, and it is not a conflict. The work is usually setting direction, resolving build-vs-buy questions, and giving an existing team air cover for the decisions they already suspect are right — not replacing anyone. We work alongside internal staff and existing vendors.
Do you work with businesses outside your area?
Yes. Engagements run local, regional, or fully remote. The working cadence is the same either way, and on-site time is scoped explicitly when it genuinely helps.

Not sure which of these you need?

That is a normal place to start. Book a short call and we will work out the shape of it together — or send a note if that is easier.
